Family Portraits
Gisela & Callum
"I love love it!"
Why is a family portrait so special? |
There are lots of reasons to commission a bespoke oil portrait of you or your loved ones; to celebrate a life event or birthday, to capture a memory of someone who isn’t with us anymore, to commemorate the heritage and legacy of older generations in the family, as well as to mark new life, such as a new grandchild in the world.
Your favourite, precious photograph that has captured a memory is turned into something everlasting and special through the medium of oil paint. In fact, many people chose to restore an old photograph faithfully in oils as a new portrait. Alternatively, I love doing photo shoots for portraits as it's a great opportunity for me to get to know you and create the composition with you. |
Why choose me to paint your family?
- I have over 10 years professional experience of composing and painting people’s portraits. Portraits are my passion and I am a perfectionist who strives to capture important details, to capture my subject’s essence and soul, and to ensure you're happy with the finished painting.
- I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in BA Fine Art Painting. I now have a painting studio at The Island in central Bristol.
- I love getting to know who I paint and every step of the commission process. I have always been a family-orientated person and know the importance of spending time with relatives. I have exhibited my oil portraits in the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in London, Royal West of England Academy in Bristol and had my first solo show last summer at 16 Gallery in Cheltenham.
What's the next step?
- The next step is simple, all you need to do is send me an email with a general outline of who you would like to be painted.
- If you have a photograph in mind, great! If not we can also arrange a photo session. Also, do say if there’s a specific time frame for the portrait to be painted by, birthdays or anniversaries etc.
- Together, we will decide on the final composition of the portrait. I will then confirm the cost and time frame for your portrait, and you can expect to hear from me regularly as the work progresses.
- Once complete, your family portrait will be yours to have and treasure forever.
